I pray you may be

Rooted and grounded in love

Welcome to the world, little sprout!

You broke through the ground with a shout

And it’s so good to have you out and about    

Here in the sunshine

Wasn’t long ago you were a seed

Now you’re growing like a weed

And I’m praying that your roots run deep

And you’ll bear good fruit in time

Rooted and grounded in love

I pray you may be

Rooted and grounded in love

Now the sun gonna shine on you

Rain gon’ fall on you, too

And I just want you to know, you need both to grow

And God’s gonna see you through

Gonna give you those good roots

Roots down deep, hold you, ground you, and always keep you

Close, planted you and watches your sleeping

So dive into the good soil, then start reaching up

Reaching out, spread your limbs, grow strong and stout

Good roots withstand the winds and drought

And bear fruit, and this is what it’s all about

Bearing good fruit to share

With the beasts of the forest and the birds of the air

You’re a part of the forest and we need you where you are

And what you bear is what you have to share

So I pray you’ll be

The breadth, length, height, depth

to know the love of Christ that 

surpasses all knowledge,

with the fullness of God.
